This Mehndi tangle step-outs are courtesy of Ellen Wolters. Meaning Ellen helped us with the design and the steps to draw this tangle. Mehndi art has been around for a very long time, it is so fun to see how you can now recreate the art on paper. I love using brown paper and brown, black and white pens.

Mehndi (man-dee) Arch tangle is one of a series of tangle patterns brought to us by pattern-collection.com and Ina Sonnenmoser. I have always been fascinated by the Hannah tattoo, the beauty, and simplicity of the art. Now I can recreate it on paper or skin if I like. I will be offering several videos on this subject in the next few weeks so enjoy.

Tangle Pattern Album Holds 32 small 2x2 tiles, great idea for keeping tangle ideas with you when you travel.
You can buy a kit to make one at my store for $5.
Supplies: 4-Sheets of card stock #65 paper 8 1//2 X 11 (Standard for the USA Size Paper) Glue Stick ( I use Elmer’s Washable School Glue) Paper Cutter or Scissors Round 2” paper punch (optional)
Cutting Instructions: Cut each piece of card stock into two pieces 1- 4 1/2” X 11” 2- 4”x 11” Cut this piece in half making 2 strips 2”x 11” Cut the 2” strips into 2”X 2” Squares you will have 10 squares. If you are going to punch some round 2” circles do this now with one of the 2” strips. You will need to be very accurate when cutting your strips or you will not have room to punch your circles.
Folding instructions Part one: Fold each of the 4 1/2” Strips, measure along the 11” side 3 1/4” and fold. Do this on both ends of the paper and on all 4 strips. (See Video)
Gluing instructions: Glue the 4 strips together in the center of the strip, it should measure 4 1/2 X 4 1/2”. Where you place the glue. You will glue the strips of paper in opposite directions forming a X. one going vertical and one horizontal. Don’t forget to add you string to tie the album together. This is add on the first paper. between the vertical and horizontal. See Video
Folding Instructions Part Two: Now fold the album, folding alternating the vertical and horizontal paper. Forming a square 4 1/2” X 4 1/2” You will have space to place 32 Bijou or 2 x 2” tiles in this Album, I liked the small 2” round tiles also to give it some variation and looks great.

Mookaflower will be one of my goto tangles. I have loved Mooka sense the day it came out. I remember sitting at my desk at work and drawing Mooka over and over, love at first sight. I feel the same way about Mookaflower, or for that matter anything that looks like Mooka I love how easy it is to draw and how it just flows out of my pen. It looks great in the round and on gray paper, it is to die for, hope you have fun with this one also. Order supplies gray paper tiles, white Gelly Roll pens and much more.

Spiral Wave is such a beautiful tangle. Brought to us by Nicole Dryer. I was a little slow getting going on this one but once I got started I could not stop. I love how it looks on the black paper. I am sure once you start you will fill the same and I do about this tangle. I have changed the order of the stepouts but it all comes out the same. Here is a link to Nicole's stepouts and a closer look at the tangles I did on this video.

Feathering Spiral Tangle Pattern by Ina Sonnenmoser is a tangle you will want to do over and over. I am so excited Ina brought this tangle to us. I love quilting and this is one tangle I know crosses the line of Zentangle and Quilting. Easy to do once you get the hang of things.
You will want to add this one to lots of places.

B’Twined is easy to draw yet looks complex. Only 2 strokes are used, straight-ish lines and couple of curved strokes, and it is complete in just a few steps. I had so much fun with this pattern, as you see by my samples. B’Twined lends itself to great shading options with both pen and graphite as well as colored pencils, use a straight line instead of the parenthesis stroke for a nice latticework pattern, use a single row for a tile border, etc. I’ve loved drawing round tiles with it.
