VLine Tangle Pattern Lesson #129

VLine tangle pattern by YuRu Chen is a great tangle to end the year. As I was drawing it in the round I decided it looked like little party hats. This tangle makes a wonderful border tangle or filler tangle. You will find it easy and relaxing with very few strokes to complete. If you want the great brown tile I used you can find it in my store. Here http://ift.tt/2ilynCC

3D Stars to Tangle

As I was getting out my Christmas decorations I found some stars I had made a few years ago and remembered how fun they were to make and tangle.
I also remembered that I needed to tangle them before I folded them.  I don't like tangling over folded edges.
Here are a few of the stars I tangled. I used easy tangles, some of my go to tangles.
You will find videos on how to draw each tangle pattern by clicking on the tangle name.

Here is a lesson on how to fold the star after you have tangled it.

You can get Die Cut stars at my store here while supplies last.

Shine Template Tangle Pattern Lessons

I have had so many students ask, how do you put your tangle together to crate the art you put on your blog and Facebook.  I decided to do a series of  YouTube videos on how I did the Shine template you see below. I used several of my favorite tangles, with step by step instructions.

Even how to shade to add that extra touch to your drawing.

You can get this template at my store.  Download it now and start tangling Monday afternoon. One lesson each day for 8 days.

Ksenija Vojiasvljevic created this tangle, I am not sure where Ksenija is from but.... I love one stroke tangles and this one is fabulous.

I did the one below on gray paper and shaded it with graphite and white.

"What Goes Around Comes Around" or WGACA Tangle Pattern Lesson #105

"What Goes Around Comes Around"
Yes this is true and it is also a fun tangle.
Do you find it hard to draw string? Here is the tangle to help you do just that.
The owner of this tangle is unknown, well I could not find her or him. I you know who it is please let me know.

Here are my version of the step-outs.
Draw a line when it passes over with a curl skip 1/16 of an inch on both sides. Leaving a little space. When you go back to make the second line you will see the magic of the tangle.
Watch the video I did coming Tuesday Morning.

Here are some strings or what I now call WGACA short for
"What Goes Around Comes Around"

Great for tangling on either side of the string.

Hi-Cs by Oil City Anita Tangle Pattern Lesson # 104

Hi-Cs tangle pattern is by Anita Roby Lavery CZT
I am not often fond of grid tangles but this one caught my eye.
You could compare this one to Ricks Paradox for fun and beauty.

I could not find a website for Anita so I drew up the step-outs myself.

Look how fun in the round, you will see a video on how to do this Saturday October 15, and if you want to do it on this darling brown paper check out my store tab above.

I also love to work with the tiny little 2"x 2" tiles, quick and easy.

4 Rosie Tangle Pattern Lesson #103

4Rosie is a beautiful pattern by Milissa Sansom.
I always try to see if I can change the pattern to a stand a free hand pattern and this one does great. As you see below I have used 4Rosie on the outside part of the tile. I have used a renaissance tile and a brown and black pen.  With white chalk and a Terra Cotta colored pencil.  Love the look.

Below you see 4Rosie done all by it's self.  Well with a few embellishments, also on tan paper.

Follow the link to the step outs
Video will be posted Thursday October 13, 2016
Below you will find a template for the typography.

100th YouTube Tangle Lesson Video with the Tangle "Gourdgeous" coming October 6,

I love Pumpkin and all things made with pumpkin, no chocolate chips please.

So when I was trying to decide what to draw as my 100th video the tangle pattern "Gourdgeous" was my first choice.

Maria Thomas developed this tangle, what a fun one.

You can make it look like a pumpkin if you make the first stroke a "C" and then just follow the steps.

Here are some close up of "Gourdgeous" my style, a little white Gelly Roll pen, charcoal white by general's and Prismacolor Terra Cotta.

I love to make orbs or circles.  I do them on almost everything.  You can't go wrong with an orb.

Be Joyful with the a new tangle pattern "Joyful" by Melinda Barlow CZT

I  presented at a conference this a few weeks ago, "Joyful Living Women's Conference" I was having trouble thinking of what to teach.  Yes I am teaching the art of Zentangle.
When I did the Typography of "Be Joyful" I knew my presentation and workshop would fall right in to place.

I can't decide what to do color or shade so you get to see the unfinished ZIA.

Here are the step outs to a new tangle I did for the conference.  "Joyful" is a Nzppel gone wild, as one of my fellow CZT's called it.

Here is the template for the typography for this project. I will be doing a video on this tangle pattern will be coming soon.

Families are like Fudge...

With the first days of October at hand.  My thoughts turn to Family and Fudge.  I teach a class at the library every year called "Oh! Fudge" where we make all kinds of candy.  This will be our 12th year.  This tangle post is in honor of Families and Fudge.

Here is the template so you can create your own tangle.

Below you will find my video on how to draw squill, the tangle I used in this

Akoya Tangle Pattern Lesson # 73

Sandy Hunter CZT is who we give thanks to for this inspiring tangle.

"Akoya"

Lets learn about Akoya.

First, Akoya Pearls are salt-water pearls, and the name"Akoya" comes form the oyster that produces the pearl.  akoya pearls are cultured in Pinctada fucata martencii, also known as the akoya oyster.  This mollusk is found and framed primarily in Japan and China.  Akoyas are know for their wonderful luster and are considered the classic pearl.  They are generally white or cream colored, with overtone color of rose, silver or cream.

What more can we say about this then here we go again with a two stroke tangle.  With the plus of having lots of circles, I love circles... just ask my students.

Look at the difference when we add the black and the shading.
This tangle just pops off the page.

Who's a little "Queasy" Lesson #72

Oh! my this tangle could make you a little queasy, sick, dizzy, but oh how fun.  Ina's art is influenced by the fact she has lived on 3 different continents.  That alone could make a person queasy.  I have a hard time with some of the names of tangles you can ask anyone who takes a class form me.  But "Queasy" is one I understand.

Here is my version of "Queasy"

You can find the stepouts here, on Ina's website.
Watch for posts on Akoya and Barrel Roll coming this week.
